BJYM organises National Essay competition in Goa

Panaji, Sep 11 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Goa unit is organising an All India Essay Competition on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of India's first war of independence.

BJYM President Ashish Shirodkar speaking to media persons here today said that the topics of the competition are - 'Conception of New India Free of Fear', 'Hunger and Corruption', 'Free India -the vision of Youth', 'Social Disparity and Casteism', 'One more War of Independence is needed' and 'Role of Past Glorious History in Building of Future India.' Youth between the age group of 18 to 35 years can participate in the essay competition. An essay with 1000 words, in any one of the following languages - English, Hindi, Konkani and Marathi can be sent to the state BJP head office on or before Septmber 30.

Mr Shirodkar said that 100 meritorious essays including state winners will be selected for national level competition in Delhi.

The first prize for the national level will be Rs 51,000, second and third prize will Rs 21,000 and Rs 11,000 respectively, Mr Shirodkar said.

As an encouragement to the participating youth at the state level, cash prizes of Rs 5,100, Rs 2100 and Rs 1100 will be awarded to the first three essays respectively, Mr Shirodkar added.
