Bank employees to observe strike tomorrow in HP

Shimla, Sep 11 (UNI) United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), an umbrella organisation of all unions of bank employees, will observe one day strike tomorrow against the Indian Banks Association's (IBA) failure to redress their long pending demands.

''The strike is against the IBA's failure to look into the genuine demands of the bank employees as per the MoU it signed with the UFBU on March 21, earlier this year,'' UFBU spokesman Prem Verma today said in a release here.

Despite signing an MoU the IBA had failed to look into the genuine demands of the members of the union, which had called off its proposed three-day strike on March 27, 2007, he added.

The bank employees associated with the UFBU would hold a rally here tomorrow outside the SBI's main branch, highlighting their demands, he further said.
