Bank employees to observe strike tomorrow

Shimla, Sep 11 (UNI) United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), an umbrella organisation of all unions of bank employees, is observing a one-day RPT one- day strike tomorrow against the Indian Banks Association's (IBA) failure to redress their long pending demands.

''The strike is against the IBA's failure to look into the genuine demands of the bank employees as per the MoU signed it with the UFBU on March 21, earlier this year,'' union spokesman Prem Verma said in a release here.

He said despite signing an MoU with the IBA it had failed to look into the genuine demands of the members of the union, which had called off its proposed three-day strike from March 27, 2007 The employees associated with the UFBU would hold a rally here tomorrow outside the SBI's main branch here, highlighting their demands, he added.
