APCC chief's son says his friend committed suicide

Hyderabad, Sep 11 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President and MP K Keshava Rao's son Venkat, who was picked up last night by the police in connection with a murder case, today said his realtor friend Prashant Reddy committed suicide by shooting himself with his revolver.

Speaking to newspersons here, Venkat, on whom a murder case was registered by the parents of Prashant Reddy who was shot dead on September nine at his residence, said, ''Prashant has been facing family problems as he had two wives.

''He was in a state of depression due to disputes between him and them. Reddy committed suicide by shooting himself with my revolver.

''Reddy was a close friend. He used to come to my house regularly. We had no disputes. In fact we were having good relations for the past several years.

''Let the police investigate the case. The truth will come out only after completion of the investigation. I have given all information on the incident to the police,'' he said.

The Banjara Hills Police picked Venkat immediately after he was discharged from a corporate hospital yesterday.The state government had already decided to hand over the murder case to the CB-CID.
