A Nigerian national held on fraud charges

Bangalore, Sep 11 (UNI) A Nigerian national was arrested by the city police for allegedly trying to dupe a Priest of a Church here today.

Police said in a release here that Mr Kingsley Samson, a Nigerian national was over staying in the country with fake passport and he was caught red-handed while receiving Rs 55,000 from the Priest Louis Paul on the assurance of tripling the amount and returning by way of US Dollars.

Mr Samson, accosted with the Priest and made him believe that he possess knowledge to convert any ordinary black paper into US Dollar. The Nigerian also lured the priest to bring USD 60,000 and he would triple it and return USD 1,80,000.

After sensing foul play the Louis Pail lodged a complaint with the Cubbon Park Police station and Samson was trapped and arrested.

Bundles of black papers, some chemicals and a mobile phone were recovered from him.

On investigation it was also revealed that Samson was in possession of fake passports and was over staying in the country. He was produced before a Magistrate who remanded him to police custody.
