Precious metals open low

Mumbai, Sep 10: Precious metals today opened softer as silver went down by Rs 35 per kg and gold by Rs 10 per ten gm on thin demand from local dealers in view of bearish global advice, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.

Following are the opening rates of spot silver and gold: Silver (per kg).999 fineness grade: Rs 17,495, Gold (per 10 gm): Gold 99.5 purity standard mint : Rs 9,260, Gold 99.9 purity pure Gold : Rs 9,310.
