PML(N) files petition in SC seeking release of Sharif from airport
Islamabad, Sep 10 (UNI) The Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking immediate release of party president and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who returned to the country today after seven years in exile.
Filing the petition, which seeks the immediate production of the former Prime Minister in the court, PML(N) MNA Khwaja Asif pleaded that the case be heard as soon as possible as the party apprehended that the government could deport Mr Sharif.
Mr Sharif, who landed here this morning on a PIA flight from London, was not allowed to move out of the aircraft for almost an hour and half. Finally, he was taken to the airport lounge.
