Murder case against APCC Chief's son

Hyderabad, Sep 10: The city police today registered a murder case against Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President K Keshava Rao's son Venkat based on a complaint lodged by parents of Prashant Reddy, who was shot dead at Venkat's house under suspicious circumstances.

Speaking to newsmen here, Banjara Hills Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) V Ramakrishna said the police had registered a murder case against Venkat after Prashant's father Raghavendra Reddy lodged a complaint with Jubilee Hills Police Station, alleging the APCC Chief' son shot dead Prashant at his house yesterday.

The police said they were holding investigations to find out the truth, following which they would decide on the action to be taken against Venkat.

The doctors found bullet injuries on Prashant's right temple when he was brought to a corporate hospital, which later declared him 'brought dead.' Venkat was also admitted to the hospital as he fell unconscious immediately after Prashant was shot.

Venkat and Prashant were said to be close friends doing real estate business for the past several years.

Prashant is the cousin of former Indian Volleyball Captain Ravikanth Reddy, who had a running feud with Venkat over a land issue.
