Islamists planning suicide attacks in Pak: Police

The
religious
fundamentalists
are
planning
suicide
bomb
attacks
in
Pakistan,
a
senior
police
official
has
said.
"Police officials have received information about possible suicide bomb attacks by the religious fundamentalists, and have issued directions to deal with the threat," the Daily Times reported.
Taliban commander Qari Hussain Ahmad is present in Lahore, and Badamibagh, Shafiqabad, Misri Shah, Shahdra Town, Shadbagh, Ravi Road and Lorry Adda areas have been identified as possible hideouts for the miscreants, a police official said.
Police and intelligence agencies had deployed intelligence and operational personnel in sensitive areas.
Police and other intelligence agencies are keeping an eye on any possible terrorist activities. Specially trained officials are directed to gather information about any terrorist activity, he added.
Surety bonds had been signed with different religious leaders of Lahore and other cities in order to maintain law and order.
"The Allama Iqbal Town TPO had taken a surety bond of 100,000 rupees from religious activist Ali Sher Haidery and put the activist under constant surveillance," the daily reported.
