Virtual classrooms launched in Bihar
Patna, Sep 09 (UNI) To provide quality education to students in state's remote areas, Bihar Governor R S Gavai has launched ''virtual classrooms'' here yesterday.
Some acclaimed professors will deliver their lectures on selected topics, official sources here today said.
Mr Gavai said it would be a rare and valuable gift to the students and faculty members of different universities and colleges across the state.
The project, 'Vidyasagar', was implemented through state-of-art technology solutions provided by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) here.
With this novel concept, Patna University became the first university in the country to arrange lectures through modern concept using ''CCC'' theme of Collaboration, Content and Communication.
Professors from various universities delivered their lectures on selected topics before more than 1,000 students from all eight universities of the state.
As many as 25 students from each university participated in each ICT-led classrooms in interactive mode at Patna, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Ara, Madhepura, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur, Chhapra district and NIC centres, in a live telecast through virtual classrooms.
Saurabh Gupta of NIC said all the lectures delivered on the inaugural day would be displayed on websites so that students could download the resources for their future references.
