Two British soldiers killed in Afghanistan

London, Sep 9: Two British soldiers were killed and two others were seriously injured today in the southern Afghan province of Helmand, the Ministry of Defence said.

The soldiers were taking part in a pre-dawn operation to disrupt the Taliban when their patrol came under attack.

A number of Taliban were also killed in the clash, the ministry said. The injured British soldiers were airlifted out by helicopter.

No further details were released.
