Turkish treat for debutant designers by FDCI

New Delhi, Sep 9 (UNI) After garnering loads of applause for his maiden collection at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week here, fresher Prashant Verma along with another HI-5 duo designer Varun Sardana, is all set to feel the Turkish flavour.

The two designers from the Hi-5 duo, along with debutant model Lisa Hayden, have been chosen for a photo-shoot in Turkey by Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) in a 'Designer Mode Talent Hunt', which is aimed at furthering the budding talent. Their photographs will be published in the Designer Mode Magazine.

Announcing the intiative here today, FDCI Director Rathi Vinay Jha said, ''The Designer Mode Hunt is an exciting endeavour by which young models and designers are taken overseas for a photo-shoot.

''The FDCI has always been committed to providing a platform for new and upcoming talent,'' she said.

''Prashant Verma's debut collection at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week stood out with its classic cuts, black evening gowns with Swarovski embellishments, flowy dresses with flower motifs and bold graphic prints which has already become a Verma trademark.

''The Designer Mode Talent Hunt is a new initiative for young talent. We are looking for tying up with more exciting locales and more prizes by collaborating with well known brands,'' Parineeta Sethi, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, The Designer Mode Dailies said.

''We are grateful to Turkish Airlines for providing air tickets and Tui in India and Medsa in Turkey for providing ground arrangements and all their support in this venture,'' the FDCI director said.
