Nokia enters partnership with Israeli cell operator
Mumbai, Sep 9 (UNI) Cellular phone major Nokia Siemens Networks has been selected by the largest cellular operator in Israel 'Cellcom Israel' as a partner to develop next genration network there.
Under this partnership, the new system will allow Cellcom Israel to offer its subscribers a fixed-mobile convergence experience, where subscribers in Israel can enjoy the same innovative services with either fixed or mobile access, the company said in a statement here today.
It further said the deal marks the first fixed network project for Nokia Siemens Networks in Israel, under which a core and broadband access network will be delivered to the Israeli partner.
Cellcom Israel with more than 2.9 million subscribers had recently acquired licenses for managing voice and data on a fixed line.
The chosen solution is based on supass-softswitch and hiX5625 multi service access nodes. For end-users, this translates into a seamless user experience across various access networks as their usage of services evolve, the statement added.
