No strikes please: Pondy CM to govt employees

Puducherry, Sep 9 (UNI) Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today urged the government employees to desist from holding agitations, enabling the administration to implement welfare measures without any disruption.

Speaking at a function organised by Cooperative Employees Association to honour him here, Mr Rangasamy said the administration was keen to fulfil the genuine demands of the employees and advised them not to resort to agitations as it would amount to adversely affecting public life.

Stating that the administration was in the process of implementing welfare schemes, he said the Union Territory topped the index of growth among the small states, in 2004-05 and 2005-06.
