Itanagar to host exhibition on human origin, genomes
Itanagar, Sep 9 (UNI) The Anthropological Survey of India (AnSI) will organise an exhibition on ''human origins, genomes and people of India,'' in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh Research (APR) department here from September 11.
APR department Director Tage Tada here today said the exhibition has been designed in three dimensions to help people explore the past, understand the present and inspire ideas about their future.
''It will present a glimpse into what the scholars have been researching for years away from the public eye,'' he added.
The exhibition would try to implement innovative plans for the commom man as well as students to help them keep abreast of the latest developments worldwide in human genetics, Mr Tada said.
The month-long exhibition would also highlight the cultural life of Arunachal and other North Eastern states.
The display would include fossil findings from different parts of the country and instruments used in anthropological studies.
It would also present the activities of traditional hunters, nomads, pastoralists and other human adaptations in different eco-cultural regions of the country, depicted through rare photographs, cultural artefacts, charts, models and crisp captions, Mr Tada said.
