Gujarat Congress' cycle rally concludes

Anand, Gujarat, Sep 9 (UNI) The Sardar Patel Janjagran cycle ''yatra'', launched by the Congress from Umreth with 51 cyclists on September 1, concluded last evening at Khmabhat after traversing 700 kilometres.

Union Textiles Minister Shankersinh Vaghela was present on the occasion. Speaking at the function, Mr Vaghela said the Congress will launch its polll campaign in the state from September 15.

He derided the state government saying that although the Centre had extended crores of rupees in help to Gujarat, the state was still steeped in debt to the tune of Rs 90,000 crore.

Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Arjun Modhwadia, speaking on the occasion, claimed that people in the state wanted a change in the government. He also referred to the growing incidents of encounter deaths.
