Itanagar, Sep 9 (UNI) The Dibang Valley district in Arunachal Pradesh remained cut-off from the rest of the country as road and air connectivity had been disrupted following incessant rainfall from the past two months.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Duyu Ranka here today said heavy rains during the past couple of months washed away Deopani and Epipani bridges, the lifelines of Dibang Valley.

Besides disruption of roads, even the air connectivity had been snapped causing acute shortage of essential commodities, including foodgrains and medicines, the DC added.

The district administration had appealed to the state government in this regard but no action had been taken so far, sources added.
