600 dental experts attend Indian Prosthodontic Conference

New Delhi, Sep 9 (UNI) More than 600 dental experts from all over the country participated in the four-day meet of the Indian Prosthodontic Society which opened here today to discuss new modalities in impants and dentures.

The conference on Prosthodontics is being organised by the Army Dental Corps with a theme 'Treatment for the partially edentulous'.

The subject has been chosen carefully as about 80 per cent of the Indian population is suffering from dental ailments, said Lt General Paramjit Singh, President of the Indian Prosthodontic Society.

''Most of the young and the old in the country are facing problem of missing teeth, newer technologies in the Prosthodontic field including implants, easthetics, ceramics, cast partial dentures and fixed partial dentures will be discussed during the conference,'' Lt General Singh Said.

Apart from these topics, major discussion will also take place in bringing down costs of dental modalities, so that they reach the common man at reasonable cost, he added.

Partial dentures (dentures without removing the complete teeth) will be main focus.

Eminent Prosthodontic surgeons from world over will be coming as faculty during the conference.
