6 militants nabbed, 1 shot dead in Manipur

Imphal, Sep 9: Manipur police shot dead a militant and nabbed five in separate incidents.

Police said here today that a militant was shot dead in an encounter at Patsoi in Imphal and a 9 mm pistol was recovered from his possession.

Meanwhile, a youth was shot dead at Imphal East by unknown miscreants, police added.

Imphal West Superintendent of Police Clay Khongsai said five People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) and Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) cadres were nabbed by police during the last 48 hours from different parts of the state.

In a seperate incident, a People's United Liberation Front (PULF) cadre was nabbed by Assam Rifles (AR) troops yesterday, the PRO of AR said.
