4 Lankan fishermen held for entering Indian waters
Tuticorin, Sep 9 (UNI) Four Sri Lankan fishermen were arrested by the Indian Coast Guard for entering the Indian waters off Tuticorin coast near Gulf of Mannar here.
Police today said the arrested were Jude Linin Appami (45), Antony Sunil (48), Francis (43) and Selvin (55).
The fishermen, who ventured into the sea from Mullaikarai in Sri Lanka on September 5, entered the Indian waters on September 8, after their boat developed a technical snag.
The stranded fishermen were yesterday picked up by the Indian Coast Guard ship 'Asrif Ali', during the routine patrol.
The arrested fishermen were handed over to the police today.
