PMK members stage slogan shouting demonstration

Tiruchirapalli, Sep 8 (UNI) Members of the Tiruchirapalli district unit of PMK led by their party Legislature from Peranamanallur G Ethirolli Manian staged a slogan shouting demonstration here today demanding that the cement price should be brought down.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Manian demanded that the government should continue the import of cement until the price of cement comes down locally.

Demonstrations were also held at adjoining Karur, Perambalur and Pudukkottai districts as part of the party's state wide agitation.

Meanwhile, the legal protection committee of PMK in Karur, Pudukkottai and Tiruchirapalli districts today appealed to the state government to provide Rs 3,000 monthly incentive to the junior lawyers.

In a statement, the committee's coordinators R Senthilkumar and R Johnreskin said a resolution to this effect was adopted at the committee's general council here today.
