Over 450 stones removed from 70 year old man's bladder

Panipat, Sep 8 (UNI) In one of the rarest cases, more than 450 stones with sizes ranging from 3 to 14 mm in urinary bladder of a 70-year-old patients were successfully removed here by a urologist.

Giving details of the case, Dr Pawan Kumar Gupta, who performed the surgery yesterday, disclosed that the patient Duliram of village Nohra in the district, came to him with the complaint of retention of urine for some days.

"On medical examination I was astonished to find large number of stones in the urinary bladder, which were difficult to remove one by one', Dr Gupta said.

The stones were removed by cystoscopic removing by intermittent controlled sucking, he said. The patient was discharged today.

Dr Gupta is the first urologist in the world to conduct clinical trials on the smallest semi-rigid ureteroscope manufactured by Rechard Wolf Gmbh Germany, which were also published in the famous US journal of endourology.

Besides, his regular practice of endourology for last twenty years, Dr Gupta has attended many national and international conferences and conducted numerous workshops.
