Factory owner, accomplice jailed for rape within 14 days

Ambala, Sept 8 (UNI) A Fast Track Court here today sentenced a factory owner and his employee accused of rape, to ten-year jail terms, disposing of the case within a fortnight.

The Fast Track court Additional Sessions Judge A.K. Shouri announced the judgement against the accused Sanjay Kumar of village Kardhan and his accomplice Ramesh, under section 376 IPC after finding them guilty of raping a woman worker of the Life Care Instruments Manufacturing Company here, on June 26 this year.

The Judge also awarded 6 months' imprisonment to both the rapists under section 342 IPC and slapped a fine of Rs 20,000 each on them.

The Fast Track Court disposed of the case within a period of 14 days after receiving it from the lower court for trial on August 24.

Earlier, a Rajasthan Fast Track Court had decided the case with regard to rape of an NRI within a week's time.
