CM's stance on Merchiston Estate issue dubious: Mani

Kottayam, Sep 8 (UNI) Kerala Congress Leader K M Mani, today came down heavily on the LDF Government for its alleged action to legalise bogus transaction concerning Merchiston Estate Owner Xavier Mano Mathew and demanded an inquiry into the deal.

At a news conference here, he questioned why the Chief Minister was afraid of an inquiry into Mr Mathew's deal with ISRO for setting up the Institute of Space Technology at Ponmudi near Thiruvananthapuram.

The government had shown ugly haste in legalising the illegal transaction made by Mr Mathew, he charged and demanded an impartial inquiry acceptable to the public in order to bring out the corruption in the deal.

Mr Mani alleged the LDF's inquiry into corruption was such the big fishes escaped and the small ones got caught.
