Itanagar, Sep 8: The Arunachal Tribal Union (ATU) has urged Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu to hand over all the inter-district roads to the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) for smooth road construction.

The Union, in a memorandum to the chief minister, said road connectivity to the district headquarters was vital from the security point of view besides development of border areas and improving the economic condition of the people.

Urging the state government to tackle the long pending boundary demarcation between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, the ATU said there was an urgent need to prevent influx of illegal migrants into the state and constitute a committee to monitor and maintain vigilance on Inner Line Permits.

The union also pleaded to the chief minister to immediately constitute a surveillance committee to prevent misuse of medicines provided by the Centre.
