Stampede: MP Governor expresses grief
Bhopal, Sep 7: Madhya Pradesh Governor Balram Jakhar has expressed profound grief on the death of many people in a stampede at Saroutawale Baba's Ashram at Bharra village of Jabalpur district yesterday.
With a prayer for quick recovery of the injured, he directed the administration to make proper arrangements in future.
Eleven people were killed and 20 injured in the stampede when several thousand people gatecrashed to the small make-shift Ashram for cover from rains. The Baba, Ishwar Singh Rajput, used 'Sarauta' (a small scissor like equipment used to crack bettlenut) in treating eye ailments of his devotees.
Bharra village, about 35 Km from Jabalpur, forms part of the Assembly constituency of Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi.
