Polling for DUSU elections begin
New Delhi, Sep 7: Polling for Delhi University Students' Union election began here today.Voting for regular students, which started at 0830 hrs will go on till 1130 hrs and, for students attending evening classes it will be conducted from 1600 hrs to 1900 hrs.
The total number of voters is about 70,000.
Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Deepak Pental has appointed Proctor Gurmeet Singh as the Chief Election Officer.
Chemistry professor J M Khurana will be the Chief Returning Officer and Mr Rajesh Tandon of the Botany Department has been appointed the Additional Returning Officer.
The last date for receipt of nominations for the election was August 24 and the last date for withdrawal was August 27.
