Passenger held, gold bracelets seized

Chennai, Sep 7 (UNI) Customs Air Intelligence unit officials seized eight gold bracelets of 392 gm each, valued at Rs 4.5 lakh, from a passenger who arrived from Singapore today.

Airport sources said that Sakthivel (26), hailing from Kumbakonam, had concealed the bracelets in two packets of four each inside his laptop cover.

He arrived here by the Air India Express flight IEx-663 from Singapore, carrying only a Laptop and tried to pass through the Green channel.

On account of suspicion, the officials checked the laptop cover and found the bracelets concealed in it.

Further interrogation was on.
