Govt urged to accept Commission report

Kozhikode, Sep 7 (UNI) Janata Dal (Secular) leader M V Sreyams Kumar, MLA, today urged the Kerala Government to accept, forthwith, the Debt Relief Commission report recommending waiver of agriculture loans upto 25,000 taken by marginal farmers in the state.

Mr Kumar, representing Kalpetta in Wayanad district in the Assembly said in a release here that the move would benefit many debt-ridden farmers.

Claiming that Kerala was the first state to set up a Debt Relief Commission to study the burning issues of farmers in the country, he also urged the government to increase the strength of its members enabling it work more effectively for the welfare of the farming community.
