Either cancel nuke deal or quit: CPI(ML)

Kolkata, Sep 7: The CPI(ML)-Liberation today fired a salvo at the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre, asking the latter either to cancel the nuke deal and stop the joint naval exercise or demit the office.

Talking to newspersons here, party's general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharjee said, '' We have already started mass campaign all over the country against the 123 agreement of the Indo-US neclear deal and the joint naval exercise at the Bay of Bengal from September 4.

'' The campaign would end after a rally at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in New Delhi on September 28.

'' Either cancel the 123 agreement and stop the joint exercise with the USA or quit, '' he demanded.

'' This deal is dangerous to our nation. After signing it the fuel and reactor for the nuclear project would be imported from the US and our country would automatically become more dependent on that country, '' he iterated.

Mr Bhattacharjee said, '' We feel the nuclear deal would not solve the country's power crisis and there was no necessity of forming a UPA-LF committee to sort out the problem. ''
