BSNL official convicted for accepting bribe

Hyderabad, Sep 7 (UNI) Special judge for CBI cases in Hyderabad has sentenced BSNL Sub-Divisional officer in Kompally telephone exchange to four years rigorous imprisonment for accepting bribe from the complainant for giving a telephone connection.

The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 on the officer, D Mohan Rao.

The accused was punished under Section 7 and 13(2) read with 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, a release here said today.
