5 held on murder charges

Sangli, Maharashtra, Sep 7 (UNI) The police today arrested five persons in connection with the murder of two brothers at Islampur town of this district yesterday.

The five held have been identified as Sudhakar Rajaram Mane (30), Santosh Narayan Kanse (20), Indrajeet Rangrao Patil (19), Sachin Vijay Dopale (25), and Devdatta Jaising Patil (25).

The five were later produced before a local court which remanded them in police custody till September 14.

A gang of eight assailants had attacked and killed Mahesh Bhimrao Jadhav (37) and Umesh (35) in broad daylight yesterday when both brothers were in their tailoring shop. The brothers were first attacked with sharp weapons and then shot dead with a revolver.
