Two militants nabbed in Manipur

Imphal, Sep 6: Two militants were nabbed in two separate incidents by troops and police in Manipur.

The PRO Assam Rifles today said a cadre of People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) was nabbed at Moreh, Chandel district by 24 Assam Rifles personnel and was handed over to police yesterday.

The PRO said the cadre had opened fire on the troops upon being challenged. He was, however, apprehended from Pangal Basti, Moreh. A 9 mm pistol and five rounds of 9 mm were recovered from his possession.

In another incident, a cadre of United National Liberation Front (UNLF) was nabbed by Imphal West commandos from Kwakeithel Bazar, Imphal, yesterday Superintendent of Police Imphal West Clay Khongsai said.
