Sonia urged to help set up memorial to Ravi Varma
New Delhi, Sep 6 (UNI) "Samskara Sahithi," the art and cultural wing of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee, today approached Congress President Sonia Gandhi urging her to use her good offices to set up a Museum-cum-Artists colony at Kilimanoor, the birthplace of legendary artist Raja Ravi Varma.
Sahithi President Palode Ravi personally met Ms Gandhi at her official 10 Janpath residence and requested her to initiate steps to set up the museum and also to erect a life size statue of the artist.

Mr
Ravi
pointed
out
that
the
museum
and
colony
at
Kilimanoor,
near
Thiruvananthapuram,
would
be
of
great
help
to
artists
from
around
the
world
who
come
on
a
pilgrimage
to
the
birth
place
of
Ravi
Varma
(1848-1906)
