Dehra Dun, Sept 6 (UNI) Uttarakhand Chief Minister B C Khanduri today said though his goverment has attained a comfortable majority in the state assembly after his win in the Dhumakot assembly seat bypoll, he will not effect any cabinet reshuffle in the near future.

Denying any possibility of parting ways with the BJP's ally Uttarakhand Kranti Dal in the state, Maj Gen Khanduri told a news conference here that the saffron party's alliance with the UKD was not conditional but on principles.

''We still respect our ally even though we are in a comfortable majority now,'' he added.

The BJP's strength in the 70-member state assembly rose to 36 after Maj Gen Khanduri's win in the Dhumakot assembly seat bypoll.

Notably, the BJP had emerged as the largest party with 34 members in the assembly elections in the state in February this year.

The UKD had won three seats then and had helped the BJP form a government in the state.
