Reliance opens 'Gaushalas' in two Jamnagar villages
Ahmedabad, Sep 6 (UNI) Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has donated two ''Gaushalas (cowsheds)'' in two villages near the SEZ refinery at Jamnagar on the occasion of Janmasthami.
RIL group President Parimal Nathwani inaugurated the newly constructed sheds in Dera Chikari and Kanalus villages. Both cowsheds have drinking water facilities for the cattle, and fodder storage. The sheds are fortified with compound walls.
RIL initiated this activity since 1995 in villages surrounding its Jamnagar refinery complex and has been taking care of the cows from about ten villages. A committee of villagers conducts the affairs of the cowsheds and keeps the accounts.
