Quality enabling BHEL to compete globally: M L Sah

Tiruchirapalli, Sep 5 (UNI) Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited Eastern Region Executive Director (Power Sector) M L Sah today said the persons involved in the quality control in BHEL should not compromise on quality as it was the key to meet global competition.

Inaugurating the 'Two-day 18th BHEL Inter-unity Quality Circle Convention' here, he said persons involved with quality control were the real brand ambassadors.

General Manager (Corporate Quality) V Krishnan said three quality circles from the Company's Tiruchirapalli, Hardwar, and Hyderabad plants would participate in the International Quality Circle Convention to be held in China next month.

There were 998 quality circles in the company, he said and added 27.4 per cent of the employees were covered by the quality circle.

Efforts would be made to make it cent per cent in the next five years, he added.

Delivering his keynote address, Tiruchirapalli Unit Executive Director R N Misra said the Company not only competed with MNCs effectively but also won several international contracts.
