Police seize huge quantity of detonators

Thrissur, Kerala, Sep 6 (UNI) Police today seized about 10,000 high-intensity detonators from a bus stand near here.

Police said the detonators, wrapped in separate packets in two bags, were placed near a Kozhikode-bound private bus stationed at the Sakthan Thampuran bus stand.

The explosives were seized during a search by the Thrissur East police, based on a tip-off, police added.

Police said investigations were on to find out who planted the detonators there.

Following the seizure, police have stepped up surveillance at railway and bus stations here.

Security in the town was strengthened after the recent twin bomb blasts in Hyderabad.
