No fresh excavation near Belum caves: Soni

New Delhi, Sep 6 (UNI) The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has not undertaken any fresh excavation project near the Belum Caves in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, Union Minister of Tourism and Culture Ambika Soni said today.

In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, the Minister said the Belum Caves, a major tourist destination, is under the administration of Andhra Pradesh government and it was solely responsible for its development and upkeep as a major historical monument.
