NCP for court verdict on K'taka, Mah border issue

Bangalore, Sep 6 (UNI) Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will adhere to the court verdict on Karnataka-Maharashtra Border Issue, Party National General Secretary Akhtar Hassan Rizvi said today.

Talking to mediaperson here, Dr Rizvi said since it was a sensitive issue and the matter was before the court, the verdict would be binding on both the states.

Replying to a question, he said the ''commission appointed on any matter can only give recommendations. Unless both the parties agree and implement them, they have no binding.

''Likewise, the Mahajan Commission report on Belgaum Border Issue is only a recommendation and not binding on Karnataka or Maharashtra.

'' NCP is for court verdict on Belgaum Border Issue with Maharashtra'', he added.
