More attractive uniform from next year for Govt. School children

Bangalore, Sept 6 (UNI) School Children of Karnataka Government Schools will be provided with more attractive uniforms from next year, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Basavaraj Horatti said today.

Talking to newsmen here, he said that the present blue and white uniform would be given a go by and Children would be provided with more attractive colour uniforms from next year.

He said that the State government has taken all necessary measures to ensure issue of text books and supply of uniforms in time from next year.

Mr Horatti said that printing of books would also be given to private parties besides Government press, while supply of uniforms would be totally managed by Karnataka Handloom Development Corporation (KHDC).

He said that the total expenditure for both books and uniforms was estimated at Rs 125 crore for next year.

Mr Horatti said the department has taken note of the complaints regarding the English text book introduced for the first standard as a subject in government Kannada primary schools from this year and action would be take to rectify the mistakes if any from next year.
