Monsoon active over Coastal Karnataka
Bangalore, Sep 6 (UNI) Following is the summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.
Monsoon was active over Coastal Karnataka, however weak over North Interior Karnataka.
Rainfall occurred at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka.
Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Dharmasthala 8; Subramanya, Sulya 7 each.
Other chief rainfall amounts (cm): Agumbe 6; Puttur, Madikeri 5 each; Belthangadi, Karkala 4 each; Mani, Kollur, Siddapura, Bhagamandala, Somwarpet, Sringeri, Kammardi 3 each; Bantwal, Kumta, Yellapura, Siddapura, Mangalore, Panambur, Mangalore AP, Virajpet, Talaguppa, Jayapura, Anekal 2 each.
Forecast valid until Saturday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka; at many places over South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.
Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at most places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada districts, at many places over Kodagu, Chikmagalur, Shimoga, Hassan districts. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over remaining districts of Interior Karnataka.
Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.
Fisheries warning: Strong onshore winds from northwesterly direction speed occasionally reaching forty five to fifty five kmph likely along off Karnataka coast during next 24 hours.
Forecast for Bangalore city: Generally cloudy with one or two spells of rain/showers.
