MK unaware of freedom of expression: Jaya
Chennai, Sep 6: The war of words between the ruling DMK and the Opposition AIADMK continued, with AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa accusing Chief Minister M Karunanidhi of being unaware of freedom of expression in the preamble of the Indian Constitution.ChennaiReacting to Mr Karunanidhi's remarks that some of the comments made by her would attract criminal punishment, Ms Jayalalithaa, in a statement, alleged the Chief Minister was in the fear of losing power.
''It is my duty to pinpoint the flaws of the government as a responsible Opposition leader and I am doing it in the right way.
Without knowing this, Mr Karunanidhi has resorted to threatening tactics,'' she added.
She said the AIADMK workers were never involved in any criminal activities 'unlike the DMK.' ''We abide by the law and do everything according to it. It is a threat to democracy to stop me from protesting for the welfare of people'' Alleging Mr Karunanidhi was only interested in promoting his family members, she claimed the people were eagerly waiting for a chance to throw the DMK Government out of power.
