New Delhi, Sep 6 (UNI) Country's largest car maker Maruti Udyog Ltd plans to expand its export network to Algeria, Sri Lanka, Chile, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, Managing Director Jagdish Khattar today said.

The company's AGM which met here today has decided not to revise exports target for the current year, Mr Khattar told reporters on the sidelines of a ACMA conference, adding that it will launch a model every year for two consecutive years.

''We are selling in many markets right now. We started our operations two years back in non-European countries,'' he said.

''I went around myself to convince them, they are following Maruti's way of sales now. Zen Estilo has emerged as the market leader in the Indonesian market,'' Mr Khattar added.

The company is selling about 1,000-1,200 units of Zen Estilo and 800 units of Alto per month in the Indonesian market.

The company is currently selling 7,000 units in Chile. It also ventured in the UAE market recently.

Mr Khattar also said the company will export diesel engine to Hungary.

On the rupee appreciation part, Mr Khattar said, ''It has impacted our revenues but it will be neutralised to a quiet extent through imports by year-end.'' ''Our sales are good, but at what cost? I don't know how long I could keep doing this,'' he said.
