Major tragedy averted, device in field defused in Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 6 (UNI) An alert farmer today averted a major tragedy when he detected an explosive device in his field at Magam, Handwara in the frontier district of Kupwara.

The device was later defused.

A police spokesman said Ghulam Mohammad Lone immediately informed police after he saw the device in his field.

Later, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) of state police defused it without causing any damage.
