KNR Ltd bags Nagpur-Hyderabad highways project

New Delhi, Sep 6 (UNI) The NHAI has awarded the contract for design, construction, finance, operation and maintenance of a highway from Islamnagar to Kadtal in Andhra Pradesh, estimated to cost Rs 518.46 crore, to Patel KNR Heavy Infrastructure Private Limited.

The project, on the Nagpur-Hyderabad section on NH-7, is part of the North-South Corridor under the NHDP Phase-II and includes strengthening of the existing two lanes on Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis.

The agreement was signed yesterday by the NHAI with Patel KNR Heavy Infrastructure Private Limited, an SPV formed by Patel KNR JV.

The total project cost of the 53-km-long section is Rs 518.46 crore The concession period would be 20 years, including construction period of 24 months.

The work has been awarded with semi-annuity amount of Rs 44.37 crore payable to the contractor by NHAI.

An NHAI official said the project would have adequate provisions for construction of bridges, flyovers, underpasses, service roads and truck lay-byes.
