Japan Nikkei opens down 0.96 pct, exporters hit
TOKYO, Sept 6 (Reuters) Japan's benchmark Nikkei share average opened down 0.96 percent on Thursday after after reports showing signs of possible trouble in the U.S. economy hit Wall Street and the dollar.
Exporters such as Canon Inc were sold, along with Toyota Motor Co.
As of 0002 GMT, the Nikkei was down 0.98 percent or 158.26 points at 16,00.19. The broader TOPIX index was down 1.13 percent or 17.29 points to 1,552.32.
