I formed MNS for betterment of M'shtra: Raj Thackeray

Nashik, Sep 6:Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray today said he had formed his own party as he wanted to work for the betterment of Maharashtra.

''After quitting Shiv Sena, I could have joined any other party which would have welcomed me,'' Mr Thackeray said while speaking to students at a two-day competitive examination guidance camp organised by the Kusumagraj Mandal here.

''But, I wanted to avoid the shortcomings from which other parties suffer and, so, founded ny own party,'' Mr Thackeray said.

''I had a fixed goal,'' he told the students while exhorting them also to set their goals first as it was important to shape their future.

''Whatever you do .... whichever career you choose, it is important to know why you want to do it. Therefore, set your goals first,'' Mr Thackeray told the participants at the camp.

Maharashtrians are still not aware of their identity, Mr Thackeray said while urging the students to work for the development of their own language, own people and own country. People in other parts of the country think of the development of their regions first and Maharashtrians, too, should also follow this. The development of the state will ultimately lead to the development of the country, he elaborated.
