HVPN advances setting up of 9 substations

Chandigarh, Sept 6 (UNI) In order to further strengthen the transmission network in the state, the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) has advanced the setting up of nine substations of 220 KV, 132 KV and 66 KV levels.

In all, 45 new substations of these levels would be set up during next 18 months at an estimated cost of Rs 802.34 crore.

It was reviewed here in a meeting of senior officers chaired by Mr Ashok Lavasa, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Power) Haryana, an official spokesman said.

Four new 220 KV substations at Nilokheri, Bhuna, Daultabad and Salempur would be set by the HVPN. The distribution corporations would also set up the substations of 33 KV level separately.

It was observed that the HVPN had initiated augmentation of 29 substations at a cost of Rs 103.41 crore. Most of the augmentation works would be completed during the current financial year.

Besides, three 132 KV substations and five 66 KV substations were likely to be energised by the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) and private developers during this fiscal year.
