Govt to mandate space allotment for sub-stations

Hyderabad, Sep 6 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir today said the department would request the Municipal and Urban Development Authorities to make it mandatory in the layout rules to earmark space for new sub-stations, in the newly coming up housing colonies in important towns.

Reviewing with officials, the construction of new sub-stations here and in other places in the state, he said the proposal was in view of the growing consumer and industrial needs.

He said sufficient space to construct sub-stations was necessary to supply power to the residents at the new colonies.

He said the department would construct four 220 KW and seven 132 KW sub-stations here and the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation had decided to allot space for it.
